This become a sign of searching

Upon hearing the story behind this series of art work— how the artist was inspired by a great but tragically ending sailing adventure of 19th century, seeing this collage in person brings forth in me a mixture of feelings. The bird image overlapping the sailing ships appears to be at the same time the symbolism of great fragility and hopefulness. Perhaps before the sailors actually ventured into the open sea, their spirit and aspiration, as the invisible forces, went ahead of them in the leap of faith and paved the way and destiny of the adventure.
