The Little Blue Series

In my artistic practice, I search for a way of being in the world that acts as a remedy against the harsh reality. I react to tragic events as well as to the beauty that surrounds us everyday, by trying to distance myself from opinions and look instead for the emotion within me. During this process, I let what I see, hear or read touch me. These impressions are the source of my images, made quickly and spontaneously. My materials and techniques are multiple and always in motion, from graphite on paper to collage, photography, singing and painting. It's the continual exploration and pushing back of boundaries and categories that is important to me. In my recent projects, after working for a long time at my desk and on paper, I've returned to painting on canvas or wood to find an even more vivid, direct and sincere form of expression.
