Drawing, Collage or other Work on Paper - Décollage (torn posters)

The picture shows a poster décollage, a so-called retro d'affiche, i.e. the reverse side of a poster tear-off. The material dates from 1964 and I found these old poster layers in an estate. As the uppermost poster layers were of no interest to me, I started tearing. The present décollage was the result of a single tear (one hand movement). Three colours dominate, namely yellow, green and red. These are separated by partially grey fields and black tear-off edges, some of which appear jagged. Texts (mirror-inverted) and various typographies are also recognisable. The texts refer to cultural events and cigarette adverts. The poster tear-off is from Stuttgart (DE). A city where today there are mainly electronic advertising spaces. So we are dealing with a relic of the analogue age. In all its beauty.
