The show showcases the works of eight contemporary artists and their diverse interpretations of the interplay between the self and its relationships.

The objects in Andreini’s paintings behave like actors on a stage. As part of this theatrical play, they stir up the laws between space, subject and time. Starting with figurative motives, such as pictures of situations in which people come together, as dinner tables... Yvonne Andreini processes these in several layers, increasingly abstracting them until they become rhythmic network. In search of the spirit of things, the initial situations awake in vibrant still lifes.
THE OTHER, the foreign and also the other person. The gaze that locates one's own position and evaluates the relation. Self-assurance secures the works in the exhibition and their place in the network of relationships. It is also the view of the other side, the unfathomable and hidden, the unknown and the different. The show is curated by Hanno Plate with support from Yvonne Andreini.
